Paul Walker
Paul Walker certainly lived a fast and furious life. He began his career right away as a toddler, starring in a television commercial for Pampers brand diapers. He wasn’t until he was a bit older that he began getting roles in television shows that would eventually lead to his success in film. His fame began with his debut in the feature film comedy, “Meet the Deedles.” This role lead to his supporting performances in movies such as Pleasantville, Varsity Blues, She’s all that and The Skulls.
Walker had a penchant for the coming of age teen movies as soon by his early works. But his role in The Fast and the Furious series is what broke him into the scene as a notable leading man. This launched a number of movies with Walker as the leading role. But The Fast and The Furious cast became like a family to him. Vin Diesel and Tyrese Gibson were like brothers to Walker off and on the set. Diesel is even the Godfather to Walker’s daughter.
Besides his film career, Walker was also known for a variety of other accomplishments. He was the face of the Davidoff Cool Water for Men brand fragrance and starred in a National Geographic Channel series titled, “Expedition Great White.” Walker held an interest in Marine Biology and joined the Board of Directors of the Billfish Foundation. He also held a brown belt, awarded a black belt posthumously, in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. I think one of Walker’s most impressive accomplishments was in founding the charity “Reach out Worldwide” which focused on providing relief efforts to areas affect by natural disasters. He flew out with his team to Haiti in the 2010 Haiti Earthquake to help the victims.
Walker was an avid car enthusiast. Not just in the fast and furious series, but in reality as well. He had preparing for a car show prior to his untimely passing in an unfortunate car accident. His passing caused a great stir among all those that knew him. It was a great loss to many. We dedicate a star in his honor so that he may fly high and fast among the stars. Rest in peace, Paul Walker, you shall be missed.
